Dear Members:

The Garden State Skating Club is entering its 55th year!
While many changes have taken place in U.S. Figure Skating over the years, one constant has been the volunteers who are the driving force behind every club. GSSC has no paid positions; all club activities are made possible by the volunteer efforts of our members. Also, all judges in the United States are volunteers and donate many, many hours for the sole benefit of our skaters.
In addition to the Shore Skate Basic Skills Competition in March, GSSC conducts frequent Test Sessions in order to allow skaters, coaches, and parents to conveniently plan skaters’ progress throughout each year. Other projects, such as the Summer Exhibition and Holiday Show are in the planning stage and will require volunteers to carry out. Opportunities to be involved are plentiful.
With ever-rising costs fund-raising efforts are more important than ever before. Your assistance will help all our members greatly!
The following page describes the common volunteer opportunities. Mentoring/training is available, so prior experience, while useful, is not required. Some tasks can be performed at home, with flexible timeframes. All are vital to the health of the club and its ability to support our skaters!
If you have any questions regarding your participation, please contact Gail Damiano at damiano.skate@gmail.com or 732-489-3065 after 3pm We wish our skaters and their families the very best of luck in their skating endeavors this season!
